MVP partners with State Fair of West Virginia to benefit children

Mountain Valley was pleased to partner with the State Fair of West Virginia this summer to give local children the experience of unlimited midway rides at the 101st annual state fair.

Mountain Valley’s support allowed 350 children, including 133 foster children served through the Greenbrier Valley Children’s Home Society, to receive complimentary all-day ride passes on Aug. 18, the fair’s annual Dollar Day admission promotion.

"We are grateful to Mountain Valley Pipeline for their generosity and commitment to supporting children in our community," said Kelly Collins, CEO of the State Fair of West Virginia. "The State Fair is about creating memorable experiences for families, and this partnership helps ensure that foster children in Greenbrier County can enjoy all the excitement the Fair has to offer."

Mary Carr, the Lewisburg site manager for the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia, credited the partnership for giving children an invaluable experience.

"Often, foster children have not had the opportunity to experience the magic that a day at the State Fair has to offer," she said. "The generosity of Mountain Valley Pipeline will allow these children to simply be kids and enjoy a day filled with laughter and unforgettable memories."

As part of its ongoing outreach and engagement effort, MVP Boost team members also staffed a booth near the fair’s front entrance, where they shared information and answered questions about the proposed project. More than 300 fairgoers signed a letter to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission expressing their support for the plans to expand capacity on the existing Mountain Valley Pipeline Mainline through additional compression.
